The Thrombosis & Atherosclerosis Research Institute (TaARI) is located in the David Braley Research Institute, which they share with the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI) .

The core research programs at TaARI include:

  • The Experimental Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis (ETA) Program, which conducts fundamental research on the interplay of thrombosis and inflammation in the context of thrombosis, atherosclerosis, diabetes, cancer, and sepsis.
  • The Clinical Thromboembolism Program (CTP), which performs optimal prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with thrombotic problems, translating current research into clinical practice.
  • The Comparative Medicine Group, which supports the research of an interdisciplinary group of faculty veterinarians, physicians, and basic scientists who study animal models of human disease. The research is dedicated to the enhancement of human and animal health via research, training and services.
