iUGO awarded Health Technologies Fund

_, News   /

The Government of Ontario has committed to funding 15 innovative health technologies via grants from the new Health Technologies Fund (HTF).

The grants support the development of software and mobile devices that focus on the delivery of better home and community care. These projects will undergo assessment and evaluation over the next 18 to 24 months to facilitate their success for adoption and scalability in Ontario’s innovative health care system.

One receipient was Hamilton’s iUGO for its work on improving diabetes care through real-time monitoring.  Diabetes needs to be closely monitored and that can be a challenge for people living in remote areas of Ontario. iUGO connects patients with their health care team in real-time, allowing them to get care in their own homes.

  • Health Innovation Team: Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, Reliq Health
  • Grant amount: $100,000
