The McMaster Centre for Transfusion Research (MCTR) is an academic research group whose mission is advancing transfusion science through innovative methodology and collaborative research to improve patient health outcomes. MCTR brings together clinical, methodological, and translational experts to perform cutting-edge research; foster collaborations; and train future leaders in Transfusion Medicine.

MCTR is built on the foundation of an internationally-acclaimed research program formerly known as the McMaster Transfusion Research Program (MTRP), which was formed in 2001 as a joint collaboration between Canadian Blood Services (CBS) and McMaster University. Over the past 16 years, the program has produced research outputs with local, national, and international impact.

MCTR supports 7 core faculty and 8 associate faculty investigators, employs 11 staff including research coordinators, research assistants and biostatisticians, and occupies renovated space at McMaster University.
