DMZ at Ryerson University
One of Canada’s largest business incubators for emerging tech start-ups

The DMZ at Ryerson University is one of Canada’s largest business incubators for emerging tech start-ups. The top-ranked university incubator in North America and third in the world, it helps start-ups succeed by connecting them with customers, advisors, influencers and other entrepreneurs.

The DMZ is open to all start-ups that meet its criteria — no Ryerson affiliation is required. Start-ups must: be addressing an important economic or social problem, make innovative use of technology, and have a prototype (at minimum) that is already in the market with or is ready to launch. Once accepted, start-ups receive four months of access to tailored connections, mentorship, dedicated work space and programming (after which they can pay a membership fee to stay on).

Since 2010, we’ve helped fuel, grow and graduate 477 start-ups. They’ve raised $916 million in seed funding and have fostered the creation of more than 4,142 jobs. They’ve acquired customers, won awards, grown their teams and developed products and solutions that are positively changing lives and businesses in Canada and abroad.
