Part of the McMaster Faculty of Health Sciences, the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine is renowned worldwide for its innovative method of small group, problem-based education, and a focus on self-directed, life-long learning. Its three campuses –the Waterloo Regional Campus in Kitchener, the Niagara Regional Campus in St. Catharines as well as the Hamilton campus, ensure new physicians are prepared in both community and tertiary health care. Approximately 5,000 applicants a year, more than any other Canadian medical school. In 2015, 609 undergraduate MD students were enrolled, along with more than 1,000 medical residents in 59 specialties and sub-specialties.
