foundation of Hamilton’s state-of-
the-art research capabilities, the city
has become a leader in life science
innovation. Since 2016, surveyed
organizations in Hamilton’s life science Collaborative Total Patent
cluster have commercialized 83 novel Applied Research Contributed
life science products with an additional Projects Past 5 Years
55 products currently in the pipeline. 303 405

Accessing public sector infrastructure,
clinical data and expertise is critical for
companies seeking to develop, evaluate
and deploy novel innovation. Surveyed 359
companies, academic institutions and phase 1 - 27

research hospitals in Hamilton engaged Ongoing phase 2 - 75
in 303 collaborative applied research Trials phase 3 - 194
projects in the last year to help bring phase 4 - 36
